Pascoe Vale is located 10km north of Melbourne’s Central Business District and is 4.9km2 in size with a population of 14,885 recorded at the 2011 Census. The suburb is bounded by Moonee Ponds Creek, Pascoe Vale Rd, Devon Rd in the west, O’Heas Rd in the south, Sussex Sst in the east and Rhodes Pde, Boundary Rd in the north. Its Local government is the City of Moreland.
The area was named after John Pascoe Fawkner who originally owned the surrounding land and built a home in the Oak Park area. A Cob & Co waystation was located along Pascoe Vale Rd which was actually called Sydney Rd in the mid 19th century. Pascoe Vale post office was opened in 1911. Despite a second post office opening in 1927 and subsequently closing in 1976, development of houses progressed steadily.
There is a small commercial area around the Pascoe Vale train station along Gaffney St and Railway Pde where you can also find the Pascoe Vale Hotel on the corner of Railway Pde and Fawkner Rd. Take away shops and cafes can be found in this shopping district as well as scattered throughout the suburb. The local RSL is located on Cumberland Rd.
Pascoe Vale is serviced by the Tullamarine Freeway resulting in easy access to both the CBD and Tullamarine International Airport. Public transport is provided by Pascoe Vale Station and tram route number 55 as well as bus services. Cyclists can avail themselves to the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail for both recreation and commuting.

The Moonee Ponds Creek flows through several of its parks and is a bonus for nature lovers and sporting groups.Pascoe Vale has its own soccer club, football club and cricket club. The Pascoe Vale Swimming Pool on Prospect St is a summer favourite among the locals.
